“ I know it is coming, and I do not fear it, because I believe there is nothing on the other side of death to fear. I hope to be spared as much pain as possible on the approach path. I was perfectly content before I was born, and I think of death as the same state. ”
Roger Ebert
Just realized that I have been quoting this consistently for the past two years when confronted about my views on there not being an afterlife. Ebert was not only super influential to me in my early cinephile education but also in giving me the confidence to come-out Atheist. Just an overall stand-up man. I’ll miss seeing his words on a weekly basis.

“ When I’m lying in my bed I think about life and I think about death and neither one particularly appeals to me. ”

This urn will turn you into a tree after you die
You can choose what kind of tree you want to become
Idk I just find this beautiful
just imagine cemeteries looking like this
a forest of living, changing, beautiful trees. I think a tombstone represents finality in death while a tree represents the continuation of life. It’s like you are living on symbolically through something greater than yourself. Each tree in a forest is a soul.
“ But I know she is coming close to the time where she will stop being a dog, and start instead to be part of everything. She’ll be in the wind, and in the soil, and the snow, and in me, wherever I go. ”
“ I’m not afraid of death. It’s the stake one puts up in order to play the game of life. ”
Jean Giraudoux, Amphitryon 38: Comedie En Trois Actes
