Scorchmunk’s teeth have many small indentations, forming a rough surface that works in the same way a flint does. When the creature rapidly chatters its teeth against wood and nuts, it quickly stokes a fire. In addition to projecting flames from its mouth, it can spit the flaming item itself over great distances. In addition to a fire source, Scorchmunk also uses nuts as a food source. These nuts are swallowed whole, as opposed to the ones that feed its fire, which are stored in its cheeks.
