Perforated Beauty Salon by Yasunari Tsukada Design

“A white, perforated box was inserted into the space with three different sized holes. The sunlight still fills the interior and the outside is obscured from the clientele’s view. The feel of the space changes depending on what time of day it is and how much light filters through the holes.”

Good Night Lamp: A Family of House-Shaped Lamps
“If you find yourself living away from your loved ones, the Good Night Lamp might be a way to bridge the gap. The series of house-shaped lamps are connected via the internet and they let you send or receive a signal (by the house being lit) from the people most important to you.”

The Drawstring Lamp, made by Svensson Markspelle, is constructed with a screen that originally was made to filter sunlight, making it the perfect material for a lamp. Structure was already built into the textile so the lamp forms its organic ball-like shape on its own.

The Blop Lamp is like shapeless mass, drop of indefinite substance, made from paint chips. The paint chips were joined together by movable plastic rivets, thus offering the lamp the ability to move and adapt on any surface.”
